Since the start of YouTube, it has transformed from a small video streaming platform to a large service influencing popular culture, internet trends, and creating multimillionaire celebrities. These successes have allowed YouTube and its users to flourish, but many new, eager YouTubers make multiple mistakes while starting their page. Each of these various mistakes made by new YouTubers can be improved and fixed if the content is optimized to meet the expectations of the target market, audience, or any user, but it is necessary to recognize that success and popularity only come if beginners are aware of what to avoid. 1. Diverse Content When new Youtubers begin their channels, they often reach farther than they are capable of achieving. It is important to understand that you will not reach everyone with your videos, so it is better to choose one topic to home in on to gain more subscribers. By doing this, people will want to subscribe to your channel, and they will continue to come back due to the consistent content. 2. Unrealistic Niche Another mistake that new YouTubers often make is picking a niche that is not realistic for their lifestyle. Yes, people want to see the fun and extravagant content, but as a creator, you must take into consideration how expensive and time-consuming specific niches can be. This is also super important to acknowledge when first beginning a new YouTube channel because if your niche keeps changing it will make it harder to keep current subscribers or gain more in the future. 3. Imitating Other Creators Imitating other creators can be another mistake. Imitating other creators can seem like it is helping you in the beginning, but instead, it will make things harder. The person that you might be trying to imitate already has its subscribers and followers who love their content, so why would they want to follow a copy of that content? If someone else has created successful content for years and has gained a huge fan base, it will be harder for you to succeed with that specific crowd. Instead, find something special for you. This allows you to gain a fan base that is truly interested in watching the content created by you. 4. Inconsistency and Posting when Convenient The fourth mistake is inconsistency and only posting when it is convenient to you. Once you have successfully found a niche that will work with you and your lifestyle, it is important to continuously post that content to keep subscribers and other users engaged. This will make you and your YouTube page more reliable, which is important for starting a new YouTube or maintaining an already existing YouTube. This will be easy for you as a creator if you are truly interested in your niche and the content being created. 5. Unsearchable Titles The final mistake that is made by new YouTubers is creating unsearchable titles on their videos. Some people might think that detailed and intuitive titles can make them look more “appealing” or even “smarter,” but that is not realistic. Users prefer easy language when they are scrolling on the app because it shows them exactly what they are looking for. This helps simplify the process for your target market, audience, or any user to find the exact content that will benefit them. In summary, remember to acknowledge all the mistakes that can come from starting a new YouTube page because it will benefit you in the long run. Also, if you are starting a new YouTube channel, it is important to find a specific niche that can last you a lifetime. Creating content will continue to become more fun when you see an increase of subscribers, viewers, likes, or comments for something that you love doing.

Social media marketing is “the practice of using social media channels to sell or promote a brand, product, or service.” Social media marketing is most effective when there is a plan that aligns with the audience’s interest to help know what to post and how to post social media content. The social media plans are strategies used to strengthen the overall profile and successfully promote a brand, product, or service, so when social media platforms use these plans and resources to their full potential, brand awareness will increase as well as customers and many other things. It is important to understand how significant social media is for all businesses, so multiple concepts need to be considered and incorporated into the social media marketing plan of what is posted. The first thing that needs to be clearly understood when making a social media plan is to establish a realistic starting point, and this can be accomplished through a SWOT analysis. By creating a SWOT analysis, the business gains a better understanding of the marketing environment by determining the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of the company. Knowing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of a company creates a base that all social media can then be built off. This also allows business owners to recognize the key concepts that will allow their company to strive on different social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn, among many others. Following the SWOT analysis, business owners will recognize who they are targeting and learn to create content that will resonate well with that target market. Objectives can then be made concerning the information collected from the SWOT analysis and target market. Objectives help a business define its goals and the intentions of its social media marketing. Objectives are one of the biggest parts of a marketing plan because they position a company in the right direction and allow for successful outcomes since decisions are based on the company’s best interest when they are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-based. With these three main concepts in mind, social media planning becomes more compelling and engaging for the audience. It also allows business owners to resonate well with at least one social media platform that communicates through photos, videos, polls, user-generated content, blog posts, and endless other content. It is necessary to take advantage of these tools, work with all parts of the social media plan, and include the audience’s interests to establish a constant and strong company brand that can be represented through social media. Although these few concepts are necessary for social media success, it is also important to find ways to maximize your reach to create long-lasting content and then continue to advance your social media marketing plan. For example, when following these social media marketing steps, remain constant with your company motto and message, be authentic to your company’s mission and brand values through organic and original content, like, comment, and share content that resonates with your brand, create engaging social media posts. These are a few examples are of ideas that can be posted in your social media marketing plan, but there are always more ways to engage with customers, increase brand awareness, and continuously add to your plan if you have a starting base for your company. Social media marketing plans might not always seem important, but they will allow a business to see where they are at, where they want to be in the future, and how they can get there, so do not give up if you feel like you are not accomplishing anything or getting immediate results. Don't be afraid to get started and get to posting. Keep your content flowing and test what works and what doesn't work. Just remember, enjoy the process. |
